What We’re Looking For:

WorldVue is seeking an expert in UI/UX design and front-end development to join our growing Creative Team, CarrierWave Creative. This is a full-time on-site role located in Houston, TX. You will be a natural at understanding human-computer interaction design (HCID), in coming up with elegant solutions to improve our software tools, and in developing modern front-end JavaScript frameworks. You will partner with a team of creators with diverse backgrounds and skillsets, and be a willing participant in meetings, presentations, and pitches as needed.


What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

·     Design and implement UI wireframes for various in-house developed products and platforms.

·     Present concepts and ideas to cross-functional teams and key internal and external stakeholders.

·     Collaborate with development team to ensure work stays within scope of product.

·     Participate in regular team meetings, bringing new ideas to the table.

·     Communicate directly with external clients to present ideas and receive feedback.

·     Analyze client needs and feedback to ensure project stays within scope or implementation.

·     Conduct research and deconstruct our users’ digital interactions and habits.

·     Come up with UI and UX strategies based on our target goals.

·     Create and maintain digital assets, such as interface design files, wireframes, and interactive mockups using Adobe XD or Figma.

·     Design, build, and maintain highly reusable JavaScript, HTML and CSS code.

·     Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends within the UI/UX space.

·     Demonstrate applied project management skills.

·     Have a willingness to own projects and take responsibility for meeting milestones and deadlines.


What You’re Working With:

·     Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field and/or equivalent work experience

·     2+ years’ experience as a front-end developer

·     1+ years’ experience as a UI/UX designer

·     Proficiency with industry-standard software tools, specifically Adobe Creative Suite and/or Figma

·     A portfolio that demonstrates both JavaScript proficiency and understanding of SOLID design principles (plugins, node packages, etc)

·     Knowledge of CSS, CSS extension languages (Less, Sass), and CSS preprocessor tools

·     Expert knowledge of HTML5 and its best practices

·     Familiar with the concept of CSS-in-JS

·     Proficiency in:

  •   Designing interfaces and building clickable prototypes
  •   Git version control
  •   React 16+ / Redux for application state management
  •   Material-UI framework

·     Experience with WordPress development a plus, but not a requirement

·     Must have Valid Work Authorization for employment in the United States
