Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Power BI Developer to join our team in Charlotte, NC, with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule and potential for full-time employment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Power BI development, with expertise in Azure automation and scripting, data and process modeling, and robust SQL skills.


Responsibilities:

  1. Power BI Development: Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to meet business requirements.
  2. Azure Automation and Scripting: Utilize Azure automation and scripting to automate processes and enhance data workflows within Power BI.
  3. Data and Process Modeling: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business processes and requirements, and translate them into effective data models and visualization solutions.
  4. SQL Skills: Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from various sources for use in Power BI reports and analytics.
  5. Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files, into Power BI for comprehensive analysis and reporting.
  6. Performance Optimization: Identify and implement performance optimization techniques to ensure Power BI reports and dashboards deliver optimal performance and usability.
  7. Documentation and Training: Document technical specifications, data sources, and development processes. Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI usage and best practices.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio of Power BI projects.
  3. Proficiency in Azure automation and scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
  4. Expertise in data and process modeling, with a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
  5. Strong SQL skills, including experience writing complex queries and optimizing database performance.
  6. Familiarity with data visualization best practices and experience creating visually appealing and intuitive reports and dashboards.
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  8. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Microsoft Power BI certification(s).
  2. Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau or QlikView.
  3. Knowledge of data analytics and machine learning concepts.
  4. Experience working in an Agile development environment.
