CTO / Aqueous Battery Chemist or Engineer

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an experienced person to lead our battery development and pilot manufacturing team. This executive scientist or engineer will be responsible for the development of new battery technologies, experiment / DOE planning, conducting research, and setting up pilot manufacturing for Coulomb's acidic zinc-ion batteries. This executive will lead the team to design, develop, and optimize new battery chemistries and contribute to new product development.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of "Industry" experience with aqueous battery chemistries, preferably with acidic zinc or lead acid.
• Experience with electrochemistry and materials characterization techniques such as SEM, TEM and XPS.
• Experience in battery coin and pouch cell assembly, testing and electrochemical characterization.
• Experience with data analysis, statistics, and software tools commonly used in materials science and engineering.
• Experience with DOE / Multi-factorial experiment and data management processes.
• Experience with battery system design
• Experience with pilot manufacturing development.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience working with start-ups or in a research and development environment is a plus.
