Creative Financial Staffing has partnered with a growing real estate firm in downtown Boston on their search for a Property Accountant. Our client specializes in the acquisition, development, and management of commercial real estate across the United States.

Property Accountant Highlights:

  • Accounting department team gets exposed to various areas of accounting analysis outside of pure property accounting (i.e. development accounting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis).

Property Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Prepare annual building budgets including revenue projections, operating expenses, and capital improvement programs (in consultation with the Property Manager)
  • Prepare monthly financial reports/balance sheets/cash flow analyses/operating expense analyses for internal use and investor reporting
  • Oversee cash management for all entities
  • Support audits
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger and reconcile accounts
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and Tenant CAM & Real Estate Tax calculations
  • Review, set up and maintain property tenants on MRI software.
  • Maintain knowledge of tenant leases (i.e. rent increases, options, special clauses, letter of credit).
  • Prepare distributions and maintain priority return schedules.
  • Prepare annual workpapers and work with external auditors.

Property Accountant Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Yardi, MRI preferred.
  • Hybrid schedule, 3 days in office
