Safety Specialist

The Safety Specialist at Sunline Global is responsible for ensuring that all company operations adhere to local, state, and federal safety regulations. This role involves monitoring compliance with safety policies and procedures, conducting investigations, managing vehicle and driver safety documentation, and supporting the overall safety program. The Safety Specialist serves as the first point of contact for safety-related concerns and works closely with the Safety Manager to foster a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary safety contact for employees and drivers, addressing concerns and guiding compliance.
- Maintain insurance policies and renew license plate registrations for company vehicles, trailers, and tractors.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and accidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective measures.
- Manages, reviews and takes corrective action on driver log compliance.
- Schedules random and pre-employment drug screens
- Prepare safety documentation and assist with orientation for new drivers, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
- Provide support to the Safety Manager on various safety initiatives and projects as needed.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within the trucking/transportation industry, with a focus on commercial vehicle safety and compliance preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of DOT laws and regulations, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
- Positive and adaptable attitude in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Proven ability to thrive under deadlines, driving results while managing multiple tasks with a sense of urgency.
- Resourceful and capable of working independently while also excelling in collaborative team settings.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse teams and external partners.
- Confidence in executing tasks independently, following verbal and written instructions with precision.
