Overview:

We seek a dedicated Software Engineer to join a long-term program supporting a national security initiative. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing innovative software products, providing robust maintenance and support for existing systems, and effectively troubleshooting complex issues. This role requires collaboration with a diverse team of professionals to ensure system reliability and functionality in a high-security environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux server administration, various programming languages, and cloud solutions.


Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new software products and significantly enhance existing applications, focusing on both front-end and back-end development.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing systems, ensuring high performance and minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, providing effective customer support as needed.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Maintain proficiency in Linux server administration, web application support, and the deployment of cloud-based solutions.
  • Contribute to developing and supporting microservice architectures and big data solutions, particularly in environments focused on security and vetting.
  • Mandatory Skills & Experience:
  • Strong experience in Linux server administration and web application support.
  • Proficiency in Java, Angular, and Python, with the ability to write efficient scripts in Bash.
  • Extensive experience with version control and continuous integration tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Rundeck.
  • Demonstrated ability in MySQL system administration and Elasticsearch administration.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud solutions, including deployment and management of cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to produce detailed technical documentation for security, architecture, and implementation needs.
  • Understanding and application of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles in a live production environment.
  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance required.


Optional Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with technical vetting processes and the support of security-sensitive screening and vetting missions.
  • Knowledge of clustered computing environments and IoT platforms.
  • Proficiency in microservice architecture using technologies such as Spring Framework, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, MapReduce, Pig, Hive) in a screening and vetting context.
