Job Description

Performs routine testing on all samples in the Analytical Services Laboratory, providing analytical data for process control, quality control, process development, product development, and waste management. Prepares and analyzes numerous types of samples by a variety of physical and chemical analytical techniques using sophisticated analytical equipment. The laboratory operates 24 x 7.


Requirements:

• High School diploma

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• High attention to detail and an ability to follow written procedures

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to optimize efficiency and productivity

• Understands basic HPLC and GC operation


Summary:

• Several different analytical techniques, types of instrumentation, and software are utilized

• Observes good safety (work in a safe manner)

• Perform general housekeeping (organizing and cleaning)

• Follow instructions on developed methods (prep and analysis solution)

• Perform analysis on in-process and finished products

• Promptly and accurately evaluate, record, and report all analytical results

• General labor in a chemical environment

• Required to wear supplied PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

• Maintains appropriate records to meet internal requirements (lab Notebook or folder for record keeping)

• Assist with troubleshooting minor instrumentation malfunctions

• Maintains laboratory supplies, prepares solutions, cleans glassware, disposes of solid/liquid waste and other duties to help in the overall operations of the laboratory
