Working remotely, the full-time Mid-Level Java Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain Java application software and integrations while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and reliable solutions for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain Java application software throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Translate requirements into maintainable code, automated tests, and secure error handling
Participate in code reviews, defect resolution, and documentation while supporting production environments
Required qualifications
5+ years of professional software development experience in Java or a closely related technology stack
Experience with APIs, automated testing, source control, and CI/CD practices
Strong debugging skills and familiarity with secure coding and SDLC practices
Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or clinical application workflows is preferred
Ability to obtain and maintain required government credentials, including a PIV where applicable
