Litigation Paralegal

We are an established law firm in Downtown Fort Lauderdale looking for a highly motivated and hardworking Litigation Paralegal with at least seven years of experience to help with a variety of litigation support tasks. The ideal candidate should have great organizational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong understanding of State and Federal legal processes and procedures. This is not a remote or hybrid position.


*Salary commensurate with experience.*


DUTIES:

  • Maintaining and organizing case files, including electronic files
  • Assisting with the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Coordinating the collection, review, and production of documents and responding to document requests, including e-discovery
  • Perform records search
  • E-Filing pleadings with the Court in both State and Federal
  • Assisting with trial preparation, including the assembly of exhibits, witness binders, and appendices for depositions and court filings
  • Maintaining hearing schedules, docketing, and calendaring, including court deadlines and scheduling orders
  • Keeping track of changes in legal framework and providing timely updates on these changes
  • Working closely with the attorneys and support staff to facilitate a seamless flow of information among the litigation team
  • Managing and inputting time entries with accuracy, timeliness, and completeness
  • Performing other administrative duties which may not be specifically included in this position description but consistent with general level of the job and responsibilities described

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least seven years of experience as a legal assistant with litigation experience
  • Knowledge of all phases of discovery, motions, gathering evidence, trial preparation, and litigation documentation
  • Familiarity with litigation databases, court rules, procedures and practices, both State and Federal
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe
  • Strong oral and written communication skills along with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task and manage time-sensitive documents in a fast-paced environment
  • Florida experience required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
