Medical Records Specialist

Our growing healthcare client has an immediate need for a Medical Records Specialist. This full-time role (M-F, 8 am - 4 pm) involves making outbound calls to medical offices to request and retrieve medical documentation, utilizing electronic access to multiple Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily outbound calls to medical offices for document retrieval, maintaining a professional and courteous phone presence.
- Access multiple EMR systems securely and in compliance with HIPAA regulations to retrieve necessary documentation.
- Track and organize clinical documentation promptly, including specialist consult notes and diagnostic testing records.
- Report and follow up on outstanding documentation to ensure timely retrieval.
- Adhere to CMR Department EMR standards, practices, and policies.
- Provide support to the CMR department during CMS audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with EHR/EMR systems preferred.
- Strong clerical and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with medical records terminology and experience in a clinical setting are preferred.
- COVID-19 vaccination required.
