Position: Lab Technologist

Client: Healthcare Client

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Overview:

  • The duties of this position includes but is not limited to accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness.
  • Position utilizes automation and computerization, and manual methods.
  • Responsible for quality control and instrument operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • May be involved in teaching and training, but not in a leadership position.
  • Position handles blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid and other body fluids. Specimens may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other blood borne pathogens.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution. Or an associate's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science.
  • Prefer American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified. As of June 1, 2015: if not certified, must be eligible for verification as a Technologist by an approved agency. Certification exam must be completed within 3 years of hire date.
  • One year experience in capillary and venipuncture phlebotomy and general laboratory testing.
