This well compensated hourly position is part of the Engineering Department. The incumbent will work rotating day/night 12-hr shifts, additional extended hours compensated may occasionally be available or required. Other duties may also be assigned.

  • Provides support within the electrical maintenance group.
  • Performs work on equipment requiring electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Performs work on demand by answering radio calls inside the plant area to resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Works on a cross-departmental team of operators and technicians to support line waste, uptime and run rate.
  • Strong communication with shift team/plant on status, troubleshooting steps, resolutions and follow up tasks required.
  • Performs planned work on shift basis, prioritizing the work alongside other designated tasks and line calls.
  • Identifies parts needed for electrical maintenance and repair projects and appropriately withdraws these parts from the parts room.
  • Performs electrical repairs on various types of electrical equipment per SOP’s/manuals/etc.
  • Provides technical information concerning calibration, programming, and machine setup.
  • Selects, installs, configures, and calibrates instruments and devices.
  • Tests equipment for safety and efficiency.
  • Designs new plant equipment or modifies existing equipment as directed.
  • Programs new plant equipment or modifies existing programs as directed.
  • Prepares system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
  • Trains operators on new systems and updates LOTO and SOP information.
  • Safely transports parts and equipment between work projects in progress.
  • Operates various shop equipment to install/program equipment.
  • Uses electrical hand tools, voltage and amperage measuring and recording devices.
  • Bends, hangs, and runs conduit where needed. Pulls electrical cable and wire in conduit. Transports and stacks conduit and electrical wire as needed.
  • Prepares system layouts, drawings, and schematics.
  • Performs electrical and controls layouts, updates and creates electrical drawings either on paper OR in AutoCAD (AutoCAD is not a requisite skill)

Requirements

· Minimum 4 years of professional experience with high school diploma or GED OR

· Minimum of 2 years professional experience with an associate degree.

Preferred Experience – Not required for application but will benefit consideration:

· Experience with process control and troubleshooting.

· Experience in manufacturing or web process handling or other processes that integrate multiple pieces of equipment.

· Experience with various instrumentation devices such as pressure, temperature, flow, level, weight, speed, vision, etc.

· NEC, and Electrical Distribution Knowledge and Experience
