Project Manager - Data Center Construction (High Voltage & 30MW Experience)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with extensive experience in data center construction, particularly with high-voltage systems and projects up to 30 megawatts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale data center projects, acting as both Owner's Representative and in collaboration with General Contractors (GCs). This role requires strong expertise in managing all phases of project delivery and ensuring successful execution to meet client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Oversee all aspects of data center project management including budget, schedule, procurement, quality, and risk management. Lead the project from initial planning through design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the main point of contact for the client, acting as their representative in all project matters. Work closely with the client to define project scope, understand requirements, and ensure timely procurement of necessary materials.
  • High-Voltage & Data Center Expertise: Manage the installation and integration of high-voltage electrical systems for data centers with up to 30MW capacity. Ensure proper coordination of complex electrical systems, including cooling towers, chillers, and advanced HVAC.
  • Coordination with General Contractors: Work directly with GCs to ensure smooth collaboration, aligning their efforts with the overall project objectives. This includes trade management and ensuring GCs adhere to project quality, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Scope & Resource Management: Prepare detailed scopes of work, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules. Identify and source appropriate project delivery resources, including the selection and management of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Risk Management & Change Control: Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans. Implement change management processes to review and approve scope changes, and manage any impact on budget, timeline, or quality.
  • Communication & Reporting: Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and timely updates. Facilitate meetings, document progress, and provide written reports and meeting minutes to ensure that everyone is aligned.
  • Project Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all project documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with both company and client governance standards. Maintain data integrity and ensure proper project documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing large-scale data center projects with high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience with 30MW capacity data centers and advanced HVAC, electrical, and cooling systems.
  • Proven experience working in both Owner’s Rep and General Contractor (GC) capacities.
  • Strong understanding of project management best practices, including budget management, procurement, risk assessment, and schedule adherence.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise between clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience with multi-site data center projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools and reporting.
