As a Permanent Registered Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of world-class patient care. Responsibilities:
  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including but not limited to taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays), asking about the patient's medical history, and taking blood pressure and pulse.
  • Serve as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
  • Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
  • Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
  • Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling).
  • Take impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate patient treatment needs).
  • Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a computer.
  • Communicate with patients and suppliers (e.g., schedule appointments, answer the telephone, billing, and ordering supplies).
  • Help to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and oral surgery.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Completed an accredited dental assisting program and passed a state exam.
  • Registered Dental Assistant certification required.
  • Proficient in dental software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, take initiative, and work independently.
  • Strong knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
  • Ability to handle and defuse stressful situations with a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols and standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Strong commitment to continuing education and professional development.
