About Neurophos: Neurophos has spent 3 years in stealth R&D conceiving, modeling, & refining a technology platform that has the potential to '100x' key performance metrics in neural network computing, including in the exploding field of Large Language Models. Leveraging new physics field of metamaterials (which its founders are pioneers in), Neurophos is able to create spatial light modulators of unprecedented speed, density, and power-efficiency. Combing these Metasurfaces with more conventional optoelectronics unlocks a compute- in-memory optical computer that dramatically outperforms anything that exists today; and in fact anything that trends project to exist for decades to come. 

 

With the raising of the company’s first non-stealth funding round, Neurophos is growing its team and beginning to realize it's Optical Computing Platform.


The Role and Responsibilities: The Codesigner is instrumental in modeling state-of-the-art AI algorithms on our groundbreaking optical accelerator chip. The role will focus on creating software models that accurately simulate the performance of various AI algorithms on our hardware, providing vital insights into latency, throughput, and power consumption. The Codesigner’s work will bridge the gap between our hardware’s capabilities and the practical needs of our clients in the datacenter operations.


The Codesigner will develop and maintain software models that simulate state-of-the-art AI algorithms running on Neurophos hardware. This includes analyzing and benchmarking the performance of the AI algorithms, with focus on metrics such latency, throughput, and power efficiency. The Codesigner will collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate representation of hardware specifications in the simulation models and engage with data center managers and AI professionals to gather requirements and feedback for modeling. Product development decisions will be guided by the Codesigner’s findings and insights. With this, knowledge of the latest advancements in AI algorithms will be maintained to ensure our models reflect current trends and technologies.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have substantiated experience in both AI software and hardware, including:

  • Software development and simulation, with mastery in Python, C++, or similar languages.
  • Has written fairly extensive AI code, ideally will have trained and deployed LLMs.
  • Has worked on a computer architecture team.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
