Job Responsibilities
The Engineering Specialist will be responsible for developing Capital and O&M project plans for the installation and maintenance of all power distribution and electronic devices within Manlove Storage Field. This would include: Station power distribution (2400V and below), back-up generator support, electrical power and communication (4-20mV and foundation field buss) to buildings/processes/equipment/valves/actuators/transmitters, DCS/SCADA support, and LOTO (lock-out-tag-out) support.
The Engineering Specialist will also manage projects that will be cross-functional in nature, complex, involve multiple stakeholders and have a medium to high degree of risk. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria; devises new approaches to problems encountered. Independently performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected. Experience with telemetry, remote terminal units (RTUs), instrumentation and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), is desirable.
Complete other regulatory required inspections, verification tests, proper records retention, and any other special or miscellaneous duties in a timely manner and as required and assigned. Maintain AutoCAD electrical and pneumatic prints and OEM technical documentation for equipment and devices. Assists Technicians and Control System Admins on troubleshooting of performance or operational issues as needed.
This position is part of the Engineering Specialist job family (Associate Engineering Specialist/Engineering Specialist/Senior Engineering Specialist). Experience will be the determining factor.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree preferred. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related technical discipline with three years of engineering/project management experience will be accepted
- Must meet company standards for driving and maintain a valid driver's license
- Prior experience with AutoCAD and SAP
- 2+ years' utility or industrial facility engineering experience with power distribution and/or controls
- 2+ years' experience with DCS/SCADA/control systems
- 2 years' experience in a regulated industry
