Job at a Glance:

A leading entertainment and experiences company is seeking a Staff Architect to join the Architecture & Facilities Engineering (A&FE) team, supporting a world-renowned resort. As a Staff Architect, you will oversee the design and development of diverse projects across the resort, including attractions, hotels, shops, and other facilities. In this role, you will act as an Architectural Owner’s Representative, ensuring that projects are designed to meet high standards, comply with regulations, and fulfill stakeholder expectations. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to bring imaginative concepts to life, maintaining a focus on quality, sustainability, and efficiency. This position reports to the Sr. Manager - Architecture.


Responsibilities:

As the Staff Architect, your key responsibilities will include:


  • Owner's Representative: Oversee project design from concept through construction, ensuring alignment with company standards and compliance with local codes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Review project concepts, determine necessary teams, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external consultants.
  • Project Scope & RFP Development: Develop scopes of work and create Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Design Management: Lead the management of construction drawings and specifications, ensuring timely completion and quality control throughout the project.
  • Meetings & Reviews: Organize design reviews, manage project schedules, and lead coordination meetings to keep all parties aligned on deliverables.
  • Quality Control: Review design documents for constructability, efficiency, and long-term maintainability, ensuring the overall project design intent is met.
  • Compliance: Liaison with city officials and external agencies to ensure that designs meet all regulatory and code requirements.
  • Construction Support: Provide technical support throughout the construction phase, addressing any requests for information (RFIs) and coordinating project closeout.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 13 years of professional architecture experience with knowledge of all design and construction phases, including construction administration.
  • Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and strong familiarity with California Building Codes, CalOSHA, ADA, and health codes.
  • Licensing: Licensed Architect in the State of California is required.
  • Communication: Strong written, verbal, and graphical communication skills with the ability to present complex issues to all levels of executive management.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited institution.
