Trial Level Tribal Court Judge

Trial Level Tribal Court Judge – The Mashantucket Pequot Tribe seeks a part-time judge for the Trial Level of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Court. The position is for an independent contractor paid at an hourly rate. The court docket consists primarily of torts, contract, family, employment, criminal and probate matters. The Tribal laws can be found at www.mptnlaw.com. The applicant must be of the highest moral and ethical character; licensed to practice law in the highest court of any state of the United States; must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a practicing attorney, but preferably ten (10) years, and significant experience and knowledge in federal Indian and tribal law; and preferably three (3) years of experience as a judge or other similar decision-making position.
