Job Description: We're seeking a proactive MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. In this role, you'll collaborate with our Systems and DB team to enhance our database infrastructure. Responsibilities include day-to-day operational tasks such as issue resolution, capacity management, backups and recovery, configuring database High Availability Clusters, maintaining replication, and reviewing ongoing database changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop MySQL replica, clustered, and highly-available database environments.
- Build and maintain database servers.
- Conduct regular patching and upgrades.
- Perform routine database backups and restoration tasks.
- Enhance continuous database monitoring and alert systems.
- Manage primary and replica database instances across the company ecosystem.
- Assist in installing, configuring, optimizing, upgrading, and monitoring MySQL database systems on Linux/open-source operating systems.
- Participate in the team's on-call rotation and weekly release processes.
- Implement strategies for continuous testing, integration, delivery, and configuration management of databases.
- Document policies, processes, and procedures.
- Support development teams as required.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in MySQL database administration, including database management, SQL scripting, configuration, tuning, backups/restores, and data manipulation.
- Familiarity with RDBMS High Availability/Disaster Recovery design principles.
- Understanding of industry best practices in database administration, operations, monitoring, scaling, performance tuning, and security.
- Proficiency with MySQL versions 5.7 and 8.
- Comfortable working in a Linux environment and navigating Linux command-line interface (CLI).
- Experience in financial/trading or investment environments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Bash, Python, or PHP scripting languages is a plus.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science or a related Engineering field preferred.
