Position Title: Senior Spaceflight Technical Project Manager

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Spaceflight Project Manager to lead and oversee the development of spaceflight hardware projects from conception to delivery. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience managing complex spaceflight hardware development programs, ensuring alignment with technical, schedule, and budgetary requirements. This role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as a deep understanding of spaceflight systems and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams to successfully deliver spaceflight hardware projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop system level architectures and requirements for spaceflight hardware projects.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, testing, and integration teams to ensure all technical requirements are met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, including key metrics, milestones, and financials.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the project team.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, systems engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of project management experience in the aerospace or spaceflight industry.
  • Demonstrable experience managing spaceflight hardware development projects from start to finish.
  • Demonstrable experience in systems engineering principles and practices.
  • Strong understanding of spaceflight project management, systems engineering principles, and industry standards (e.g., NASA, ESA, or commercial space standards).
  • Proven ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, or equivalent).
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with government or commercial spaceflight programs.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes and lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience in testing, integration, and validation of spaceflight hardware.
  • Understanding of verification and validation of requirements for spaceflight hardware.
