Welcome to Messer Strickler Burnette, Ltd. Our Barrington, Illinois office is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our team and become an integral part of our fast-paced, dynamic work environment. The position will be fully in-office, Monday-Friday, while the applicant undergoes training. Once training is completed, the applicant will have the opportunity to switch to a hybrid schedule. Your responsibilities will include:

  • File opening and maintenance
  • Assisting with correspondence and filings
  • Assisting with research
  • Maintaining calendars
  • Drafting legal documents and coordinating with our Firm's other offices in California, Florida, and Kansas.


Previous experience in a legal office setting is a plus but not required. Recent college grads welcome to apply

 

Your work hours will be 9 am to 5 pm CST. Compensation is negotiable depending on experience, along with a host of additional benefits and the opportunity to participate in the Firm's 401(k). Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Experience in legal assistance (preferred but not required)
  • Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols (preferred but not required)
