Amteck is looking for an Electrical Estimator for our Lexington office.


An Estimator is responsible for cost calculations to determine how much it will cost a company to complete a project or provide products and services to its clients. They do this by researching the costs of the materials, transport, labor, and equipment.


This position reports to the Estimation Manager and takes direction from and provides support to the Estimation Manager.


Responsibilities:

· Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labor, and equipment

· Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors

· Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame

· Assessing the risk levels associated with a project

· Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done

· Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyers

· Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs

· Travel to assigned projects as needed to gain a better understanding of the work


Requirements:

· Minimum of 2 years of field experience in electrical construction, industrial and commercial

· Demonstrated experience pricing and budgeting electrical construction projects ranging from $500K to $30M or more

· Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast paced work environment with very tight deadlines

· Commitment to providing exceptional customer service

· Ability to travel periodically

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Experience with Accubid Anywhere and LiveCount Cloud software

· Strong overall computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software, as well as industry-specific software

· Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively
