Position Title: Application Architect (W2 Only)

Location: Tallahassee, FL

Duration: 12+ months


Responsibilities:

1.Provide design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy.

2. Develop enterprise-level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions, and features.

3. Use a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications.

4. Provide expertise regarding the integration of applications across the Department.

5. Determine specifications, and plan, design, and develop, the most complex and business-critical software solutions, while utilizing appropriate software engineering processes - either individually or in concert with the associated project team.

6. Develop programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse.

7. Use in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing, and debugging programs.

8. Understand and consistently apply the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies.

9. Research and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and possible applications for potential use by the Department.


Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of seven (7)years of experience in multiple IT areas and two (2) to three (3) years of relevant architecture experience.
  • Requires advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of architecture, applications systems design and integration.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with technical and Department staff.
  • Proficient in the English language.
  • Experience providing design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy.
  • Experience developing enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features.
  • Experience using a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications.
  • Experience providing expertise regarding the integration of applications on an enterprise-wide level.
  • Experience determining specifications, then plans, designs, and develops the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes—either individually or in concert with the project team.
  • Experience developing programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse.
  • Experience in state-of-the art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs.
  • Experience in researching and maintaining knowledge of emerging technologies and possible applications for enterprise-wide use.
  • Experience in assisting in difficult IT support problems.
  • Experience understanding and consistently applying the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies.
  • Experience acting as a technical expert across multiple disciplines as well as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent.
  • Experience as a .NET full stack developer.
  • Experience ensuring application performance and security standards through best practices.
