The Service Technician must be a detail-oriented, people-friendly, with strong analytical skills; able to manage themselves, a self-starter capable of accomplishing necessary tasks within deadlines established by the company and the customer.

The Service Technician must maintain professional relationships with customers, suppliers, other team members and managers.


QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

BA or BS a plus.

· Minimum two - ten years technical knowledge and field experience as a boiler repair technician, HVAC technician or equivalent. [Based on Level]

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:

· Must hold a valid driver’s license and meet Boiler Specialist Inc.’s insurance qualifications to operate a company vehicle or drive own vehicle for company purposes.

· Ohio Boiler Operator License preferred but not required.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

· Ability to read and comprehend instructions, and correspondence.

· Ability to read safety rules, tools and equipment instructions.

· Ability to write routine reports, emails and documents.

· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients, and team members.

· Ability to communicate effectively using email and telephone.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

· Ability to compute ratios, and percent using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.

· Practical application of fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, measurement, practical algebra, and geometric construction.


REASONING ABILITY:

· Apply principles of logical and/or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

· Apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

· Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

· Ability to work independent

· Ability to set personal goals and priorities

· Ability to successfully resolve conflict.
