Senior Regional Sales Manager

We are a science-based, international biocide business with our North American Headquarters based in Woonsocket, RI. Our group companies manufacture in 3 locations globally and have subsidiary offices in China, India and Europe.
An opportunity has arisen to join the company’s highly motivated US team as Senior Regional Sales Manager to be part of our expansion and business growth. The successful candidate will be able to shape and build the role as the company grows.
The role will suit a driven sales developer with proven experience in selling biocides to the Paint, Coatings, Water, Adhesives, HI&I, Personal Care, Construction, and Polymers markets. We need a seasoned sales developer with a real & can-do attitude, willing to take instruction and who possesses a strong proven technical background in Biocides.
The successful candidate will report directly to the VP North America as well as the Owner/CEO and will assume direct responsibility and accountability for a specified sales territory within the US. The job will require focused, productive business travel in order to raise awareness, build trust andm establish enduring customer relationships. Attention to detail, and strong communication/ negotiation skills, in addition to an inherent ability to work under pressure and multi-task, are key factors for this role.
The position requires a person who can and will develop and deliver significant new business.
Responsibilities of the successful candidate include:
• New account identification and qualification within the target markets named above
• Excellent listening skills that result in discovery of unmet customer needs and then demonstrate
the ability to meet those needs with Prom’s unique value propositions
• Developing strong customer partnerships
• Expanding Prom’s reputation as a supplier by selling within the entire customer decision making
process and people
• Willingness to learn from more experienced senior management in how to be successful in
selling and maintaining biocide sales, i.e. a true “team player”
• Setting up productive business trips that maximize the company’s potential to grow profitably
• Gaining an understanding of each target market and what differentiates one biocide type from
another and what the selection process involves
• Leveraging previous business contacts to bring in new business opportunities
• Demonstrating how to accurately identify the decision making process and criteria unique to
each sales prospect and customer and then applying that to a unique value proposition and
selling strategy
• Demonstrating the ability to close a sale and generate new, sustainable business
• Reporting to the VP of N. America on a weekly basis with detailed call reports and action item
follow up
