Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our Houston team, leading industrial, aviation, and big-box tilt-wall construction projects ranging from $5M to $30M. The Superintendent will play a pivotal role in overseeing on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. The ideal candidate brings proven experience managing large-scale projects and expertise in tilt-wall construction.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking to project closeout, managing resources, schedules, and subcontractors to ensure successful completion.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to maintain project milestones and deliverables.


Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce job site safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company safety policies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective measures.


Quality Control

  • Monitor workmanship and adherence to construction plans and specifications.
  • Ensure all phases of the project meet or exceed industry quality standards, especially with tilt-wall and industrial standards.


Scheduling and Planning

  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, adjusting as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure materials and equipment are on-site and ready for installation.


Budget Management

  • Work closely with the project manager to monitor expenses, anticipate budget risks, and minimize cost overruns.
  • Provide timely updates on project progress, costs, and change orders.


Communication and Coordination

  • Act as the main point of contact for the project site, liaising between the client, project team, and subcontractors.
  • Hold regular site meetings to discuss project status, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure everyone is aligned on objectives.


Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and documentation required for regulatory and project tracking purposes.
  • Ensure all permits, inspections, and required approvals are completed and documented.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Superintendent managing $5M-$30M projects, specifically in industrial, aviation, and big-box tilt-wall construction.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction software and project scheduling tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
  • Certifications: OSHA 30 certification preferred; other safety and industry-specific certifications a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills with a proven ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work on-site and navigate active construction zones.
