Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Procurement Specialist at Hughes Tank Company, LLC located in Venus, TX. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, ordering all materials, equipment, and parts, managing inventory levels, conducting cost analysis, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Additionally, this role will involve collaborating cross-functionally with various departments to streamline procurement processes and enhance overall efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Fishbowl inventory management software or similar and a proven track record in procurement within the steel fabrication, parts, components, and/or equipment sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for steel and related materials.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts, and terms to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Leverage Fishbowl software to oversee and manage inventory levels effectively.
• Implement and optimize inventory control measures within Fishbowl to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
• Place orders and assign POs for raw steel, parts, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure that all orders are placed in accordance with the factory consumption rates and required minimum allocations.
• Conduct cost analysis on procurement processes, utilizing Fishbowl data for insights.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of procurement budgets.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, including supplier disruptions, price fluctuations, and geopolitical factors.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation within Fishbowl software.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
• Work closely with production, logistics, and finance teams, utilizing Fishbowl data to streamline the procurement process and enhance overall efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge and proficiency in using Fishbowl software or similar for inventory management.
• Proven experience in procurement within the steel fabrication industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
