Sr. F5 Engineer | 2 days/week on site | 2-year contract | $70-80/hr


We are in search of an experienced Engineer specialized in F5 Networks to join our team. In this role, you'll focus on providing support by assessing business needs and crafting tailored system solutions. Collaboration with other Engineers and Architects will ensure alignment with company service level standards and roadmap requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and manage F5 security devices, including LTM (Local Traffic Manager) and GTM (Global Traffic Manager).
  • Establish and maintain configuration standards for F5 appliances.
  • Administer and optimize F5 appliances across the organization, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Monitor and respond to security advisories, implementing necessary measures to mitigate risks.
  • Design and implement application delivery infrastructure integration into business solutions using F5 LTM and GTM modules.
  • Analyze network structures and capacity requirements, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Develop detailed project plans and implementation diagrams for F5-related initiatives.
  • Configure and manage traffic management systems supporting PKI, DNS, load balancing, and MFA with a focus on F5 LTM and GTM functionalities.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions conforming to design standards, leveraging F5 technologies.
  • Research and propose changes in assigned technology disciplines, staying updated on advancements in F5 products and related areas.
  • Install, test, and upgrade network operating systems software and hardware, including F5 TMOS.
  • Contribute insights into the security technology plan, ensuring alignment with other technical infrastructure components.
  • Support large-scale infrastructure migrations and baseline reviews, specifically focusing on F5 implementations.
  • Implement approved changes according to change management policies, with a focus on F5 GTM and LTM configurations.
  • Stay updated on emerging technology trends and operational challenges, particularly in the context of F5 technologies.
  • Conduct training sessions on F5 design and configurations, sharing expertise with team members.
  • Configure and support application security policies via F5 ASM (Application Security Manager) and APM (Access Policy Manager) modules.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of technical/operations experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with F5 Hardware/Software, including LTM and GTM modules.
  • F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA) certification required.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting environments with F5 LTM and GTM functionalities.
  • Proficiency with F5 Traffic Management Operating system, CLI commands, and Route Domains.
  • Experience with F5 ASM & APM modules preferred.
  • Experience with industry-leading cloud providers preferred.
  • Experience in requesting and installing PKI server certificates.
