ETL Data Movement System Administrator

Location – 100% Remote

Contract Duration – June 2024 – December 31, 2024 with potential for extension or conversion to full time employment.


The IT Operations Business Intelligence (BI) Systems Administrator will provide production administration support within a complex application and data warehouse environment. Duties will include the following:


Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve failures; provide clarity with in-depth data research; implement fixes.

Collaborate with teams across IT to resolve complex issues and provide optimal solutions, with an emphasis on process improvement.

Work to continuously enhance the stability and long-term performance of BI systems.

Develop and update documentation, technical procedures, and knowledge articles.

Increase proficiency and scope of involvement on all activities through guided and self-initiated learning.

Participate in on-call rotation (one week every fifth week).


Required Skills and Expertise:


Bachelor’s Degree or 4 to 6 years of equivalent work experience.

Informatica/ActiveBatch (or comparable Enterprise Scheduling Application): skilled in supporting ETL Data Movement in a Production Operation Role - Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving failures.

Skilled in utilizing Workflow Monitor to determine failure point.

Ability to backtrack to Workflow Manager to further analyze components of a failed workflow viewed in monitor.

Skilled with interpreting workflow/session logs to determine root cause of failure.

Linux/Unix:

Ability to navigate directories.

Solid understanding of file permissions and environmental variables

Ability to read Shell Scripts, VI Editor usage.

Experience coordinating and collaborating with teams to resolve issues and enhance existing processes.

Skilled in providing proactive administrative activities so that user-impacting events are limited, and new deployments are successful.

Experience providing proactive support activities and process documentation.

Expertise in managing ticket queues and resolving or escalating issues.

Must be available and willing to participate in on call rotation.


Desired Skills and Expertise:


Development experience in an operation role is a plus.
