Electrical Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is looking for an Electrical Engineer for a manufacturing client in Richmond VA. Assist in day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting of control and electrical equipment. Develop, maintain and execute safety, improvement and obsolescence plans for control and electrical equipment. Manages and executes electrical and controls projects. Provides electrical engineering representation for engineering and capital work. Provides engineering support prior to and during maintenance outages. Manages E/I technician training program. Provide input and evaluation of E&I new-hires. Assists in support and development of site utilities. Gatekeeper for maintenance MOC process as applicable to electrical and control systems. Accountable for understanding OSHA, PSM and electrical code standards for control/electrical equipment and translating them into site procedures. Accountable for demonstrating site and business core values of SHE, quality, people treatment, and ethics.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial Electrical Engineering experience
- Experience around electrical controls – automation.
- Understands Reliance DCS
- Experience working on and leading maintenance activities for medium/high voltage power distribution equipment.
- Advanced understanding of automation and control systems such as: Reliance DCS, Wonderware, Honeywell Experion, and ControlLogix.
- Advanced understanding of AC and DC drives.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or other drafting software
- Experience setting up a Control Loop Experience programming automation and control systems
