Medical Device Product Manager-Upstream

As part of our ongoing expansion in North America, we seek a motivated Product Manager, Upstream to join our team.
Position Summary
OrganOx has an exciting career opportunity for a Medical Device Product Manager, Upstream to be located at our North America headquarters in Madison, NJ. In this role, you will report to Global Director of Marketing and will have global responsibility for product marketing deliverables for new products from the opportunity assessment through product development and commercial launch. You will build business cases and define project scope for new products supporting our business goals by understanding our markets, customers and competitors. You will help achieve those business goals by providing voice of business and voice of customer throughout the product development process.
Listed below are the key responsibilities of the role and a brief description of some of the key tasks to be performed. This list is not totally inclusive, and the person will be expected to complete additional tasks reasonably requested by the Director of Marketing.
Major Responsibilities
Under direction from the Director of Marketing, the Product Manager, Upstream will be responsible for:
Primary responsibilities include product development initiatives which support our marketing strategies and initiatives, providing voice of business, voice of customer and developing customer requirements through direct engagement with our customers and commercial teams.
Collaborate with R&D and marketing to translate customer requirements into meaningful product features and negotiate trade-offs necessary to meet technical requirements. Completes functional phase review deliverables.
- Design market research and intelligence strategies to drive portfolio development decisions
- Effectively collaborate with R&D teams and leadership to drive prioritization and progress of development efforts
Monitors and manages business performance for assigned product portfolio including global revenue and margin analysis, market trends and drivers, and global forecasting for new products.
Responsible for lifecycle management including market concept, product launch readiness, product stability and end of life.
Develop and execute the product roadmap strategy including identification of new products, product enhancements, and end-of-life actions.
Identify and create opportunity assessments including in-depth business case analysis, financial modeling, and strategic prioritization for new pipeline projects in alignment with strategic plans.
Define global customer needs and feature requirements for future products and assist in the development of long-range product plans.
Develop, maintain and grow relationships with our commercial teams, key customers and key opinion leaders.
- Partner with key thought leaders to anticipate the future market environment and unmet needs
Evaluate cost reduction initiatives and SKU management for product(s) and product stewardship.
Evaluate and recommend market opportunities for future product(s) in the portfolio.
Demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.

Skills and Experience
The Product Manager, Upstream will have:
Familiarity with Voice of Customer research practices such as qualitative and quantitative studies and translation user needs to product requirements.
3+ years medical device industry experience in marketing, business development or sales.
Strong leadership in developing comprehensive business assessments, strategies, tactics, and solutions to drive business objectives.
Financial modeling, forecasting, planning, and analytical skills.
Ability to understand complex technical product information.
Excellent oral and written communications.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead others often without authority.
Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
Ability to perform under pressure and in a dynamic environment.
A high degree of initiative, motivation, and accountability for results.
An ability to work with all levels of management including Senior Leadership.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally to meet with customers, attend scientific conferences and evaluate new technologies with limited advanced notice.
Strong computer skills in spreadsheet, presentation, and work processing software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
Ability to be solution oriented and problem solve to find optimal solution.
Demonstrated complex project management experience.
Qualifications
The Product Manager, Upstream will have:
Bachelor’s degree
7+ years of professional experience in marketing, engineering, or healthcare
3+ years upstream marketing and/or product development experience in medical device
Analytical, quantitative, financial modeling, and strategic thinking skills
Travel - up to 25% required (mostly US; some global may be required)
