Job Title: Java Developer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Java Developer with proficiency in Python and familiarity with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FICA) regulations to join our innovative team in the banking sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, particularly in creating and maintaining banking applications, and a thorough understanding of industry-specific compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Development:
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java-based applications for banking systems.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code in Java and Python.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • System Integration:
  • Integrate various banking applications and third-party services.
  • Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between different systems.
  • Compliance & Security:
  • Implement and maintain systems in compliance with FICA regulations and other industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure applications meet regulatory requirements and security standards.
  • Performance Optimization:
  • Monitor and optimize application performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Conduct code reviews and performance tuning to enhance system efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, product managers, and QA testers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Troubleshooting & Support:
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing banking applications.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java development.
  • Proven experience with Python programming.
  • Solid understanding of FICA regulations and compliance in the banking industry.
  • Experience in the financial services sector, particularly in banking.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong proficiency in Java and Python.
  • In-depth knowledge of software development best practices, design patterns, and data structures.
  • Familiarity with banking operations, products, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Experience with Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).
  • Proficiency with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Familiarity with web services (REST, SOAP) and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

Additional Requirements:

  • Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications in Java and Python are a plus.
  • Compliance certification (e.g., CAMS, CFCS) related to FICA is advantageous.
