One of the country's largest financial technology firms is searching for a Hardware Lab Technician to join their Prototype team in Oakland, CA. In this position, you will be responsible for developing digital component models in SolidWorks, reworking, micro-soldering, and soldering PCBs, and operating the 3D printer, laser cutter, and testing equipment.


This position begins on a 4-month, W2 contract that offers full benefits and the opportunity to extend to long-term employment.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform soldering, micro-soldering, and rework on PCBs
  • Operate and maintain 3D printer, laser cutter, and test equipment (OMM, Instron, Drop, Thermal, etc.) to build and test new prototypes
  • Develop and modify digital models of components using SolidWorks CAD software
  • Maintain and manage all prototype and 3D print materials in the lab
  • Update and execute JIRA requests


Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience as a lab manager or technician in a consumer electronics field
  • Expertise in a hardware lab supporting test, measurement, and prototyping activities
  • Strong soldering and micro-soldering abilities
  • CAD Software knowledge, SolidWorks preferred
  • Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts, and mechanical drawings
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Google Suite
