Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Position: Shipping Receiving Clerk
Position Summary
The Shipping Receiving Clerk is responsible for performing administrative duties associated with shipping and receiving following established procedures.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Shipping / Receiving Supervisor
Supervises: N/A
Specific Educational/ Vocational Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Two (2) years prior shipping/receiving experience is preferred as well as knowledge of office related equipment, exposure to Microsoft Word, Access, Visual and ASN. These requirements may be waived upon demonstration of knowledge and skills.

• Perform all work in line with plant safety rules.
• Review and release packaging work orders and bulk packaging slips.
• Process bills of lading and create manifests via customer websites.
• Coordinate shipping arrangements with trucking services.
• Maintain, review and revise work order schedules based on customer service order inputs.
• Assist in the location of parts for shipping and stocking.
• Receive material and ensure purchase orders, freight bill, packing slips and receivers correspond to material received.
• Coordinate with customer service to ensure daily shipping requirements are met.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping responsibilities for Shipping/Receiving Office.
• Perform any other reasonable assignment as directed by the supervisor.

• Working knowledge of the Manufacturing Industry.
• Excellent hand/ eye coordination with an "eye for detail.”
• Basic knowledge of federal and state regulations (OSHA, EPA).
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to keep work area neat and clean and eliminate potential hazards.
• Ability to conform to company policies/ procedures and OSHA standards with the goal of zero safety related incidents.
• Ability and capacity to train and expand knowledge based on company specifications and requirements.
