Beneva Group has recently been engaged by an innovative solar energy manufacturer to help them find their first Lead Manufacturing Operations Mechanic as they launch their first US-based factory in Indianapolis, IN.


As a Lead Manufacturing Operations Mechanic in a highly automated facility, you will be responsible for analyzing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing equipment to uphold and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness in the manufacturing plant. This role is extremely hands on.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, inspect, maintain, and repair equipment in facility
  • Must have knowledge of CMMS systems to manage projects, repairs and PMs
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, schematics to determine scope of work
  • Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery per drawings in large plant settings to ensure minimum downtime.
  • Must be able to utilize forklifts, scissor lifts, chain falls to complete large scale projects.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis, devise solutions, implement improvements, and establish effective prevention measures for problems that arise with equipment
  • Maintain facility equipment and keep meticulous records of equipment performance, equipment/part failures, machine downtime, and solutions/corrective actions to problems – create and maintain a detailed and accessible database of Lessons Learned
  • Purchase spare/replacement parts for equipment, track purchase requests, maintain spare part safety stock, etc.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures / Work Instructions for using production equipment; train and assess other employees in safe and proper usage of machines
  • Participate in planning, purchasing, installation, and commissioning of new equipment
  • Guide, train, and coach equipment technicians in proper machine usage


Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance in an automated manufacturing environment
  • Upon starting position, ability to travel to China for one month for solar industry orientation and training
  • Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficient in mechanical / electrical system design principles and Servo control
  • Proficient in CAD drawings and programming software
  • Strong experience with automation equipment (e.g., welding machines, laminating machines, cutting machines, etc.)
  • Strong sense of responsibility and strong communication and teamwork capabilities
  • Excellent creative problem-solving abilities
