Buying Assistant

Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Buying Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate must be a Graduate Gemologist with a keen eye for quality and market trends. You will assist in various aspects of the buying process, including reordering inventory, handling returns to vendors (RTV), conducting price analysis, staying updated on industry trends, and assessing profitability. The role requires excellent analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a passion for the jewelry industry.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the procurement of diamonds and jewelry items, ensuring alignment with company standards and customer preferences.
- Conduct regular analysis of inventory levels and sales data to determine reorder quantities and optimize stock levels.
- Manage the return to vendor (RTV) process efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
- Perform price analysis and market research to determine competitive pricing strategies and identify opportunities for margin improvement.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and consumer preferences to anticipate demand and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and exclusive offerings to enhance profitability and product assortment.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop promotional strategies and capitalize on emerging trends.
- Assist in evaluating the profitability of product lines and individual SKUs, making recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain organized records of purchases, vendor agreements, and pricing contracts for reference and audit purposes.
- Provide support to the senior buying team in various administrative tasks, including but not limited to order processing, vendor communication, and inventory reconciliation.
