A rapidly expanding technology platform firm in the transportation sector, is looking for a Head of Finance to join their growing executive team. As the Head of Finance, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects related to finance within this organization, driving growth and ensuring financial stability as a key member of the executive team. The opportunity will sit in a hybrid setting, with their office out of the Chicagoland area.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee that all financial reporting meets deadlines appropriately, accurately filed, and in compliance with all regulatory financial requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial control, risk, and regulatory systems to properly manage the company's assets
  • Partner with stakeholders consistently, such as the executive board, investors, and other financial institutions, to ensure high-level engagement for the company
  • Lead the development and management of budgets, forecasts, and financial models
  • Spearhead the financial direction of the organization and provide insights to properly align with the goals and objectives of the executive team
  • Engage with potential investors and institutions on funding opportunities to support continued growth strategies
  • Hire, develop, and retain a high-performing internal finance team that can support the company's sustained growth strategies


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience managing finance and regulatory operations in a logistics, transportation, or technology based organization; prefer start-up/scaling up experience
  • Prior development of financial strategies and management of detailed budgets and forecasts
  • Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is required; MBA strongly preferred
  • Prior leadership of direct reports throughout the finance and compliance divisions of an organization
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with high-level internal and external partners, executive team members, and stakeholders
