Previous experience as an auditor with the Maryland Register of Wills, Virginia Commissioner of Account, or District of Columbia Register of Wills is a plus. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is detail oriented, and possesses superior analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will gain experience through working with and being mentored by the firm’s attorneys and will have significant contact with clients, other attorneys, court personnel, and others.


Duties


  • Oversee the administration of estates and trusts and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conduct legal research to support decision-making processes related to estate and trust administration matters.
  • Prepare detailed reports, correspondence, and documentation pertaining to estate and trust administration activities.
  • Maintain organized files and records using software such as TimeSlips and TimeMatters.
  • Utilize Westlaw and other resources for comprehensive legal research as needed.
  • Transcribe meeting notes and other important documents accurately.
  • Meet with beneficiaries or relevant parties to gather necessary information.
  • Demonstrate professional etiquette while communicating with stakeholders.


Experience


  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a legal or financial setting (3 Yrs. Min. Experience Required).
  • Familiarity with estate and trust administration principles and practices is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using legal research tools such as Westlaw.
  • Experience with document management systems is advantageous.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
