We have several Senior Technical Project Manager roles available in South Florida. Our clients are all enterprise organizations, with team-oriented environments. Most of the roles are long-term contracting positions (6-12+ months with the possibility to be extended or converted to a fulltime employee) and prefer an active PMP Certification.



Many of our clients are back in the office and requiring working onsite in a hybrid capacity in South Florida. Please note, the ability to work onsite is a hard requirement for this role and only local candidates will be considered.



POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Infrastructure Project Manager drives the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects that are approved and funded. The position guides complex technology projects from inception through delivery and support, working in close partnership with IT and business leaders, including project, program, executive sponsors, all IT groups, as well as other leaders within the business and IT. This role is also in charge of defining objectives, creating plans to achieve objectives, tracking / reporting progress against objectives and budgets, driving execution of key projects and programs, coaching project team members and improving project management processes. This individual provides overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts. The Senior Infrastructure Project Manager helps establish new and improves existing project management processes and methodologies for client’s IT organization to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adheres to high quality standards, and meet customer expectations.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, manages, and executes infrastructure projects. Delivers projects on-schedule, on-budget, to mutually agreed-to scope, and high customer satisfaction.
  • Follows and exemplifies consistent project management practices, processes and metrics as defined by the client PMO project delivery lifecycle process.
  • Develops clear, business language presentations and presents to senior business and IT leadership to support status updates as well as swift decision making and issue resolution when needed.
  • Presents regular project status (budget, schedule, scope, and quality) leveraging required artifacts at governance forums (Tollgates, etc.) aligning with the PMO project delivery lifecycle process to Senior IT Leadership.
  • Facilitates documentation and approval of scope (including risks, assumptions, and constraints) across all parts of the business and IT organization for assigned projects.
  • Coordinates elicitation of business and technical requirements for Infrastructure projects.
  • Drives estimation (internal labor, external labor, hardware, software, services) to develop a project cost aligning with the approved project scope.
  • Authors project charters that align to the project scope and estimated costs. Presents project charters for review and approval by authorized business and IT stakeholders.
  • Develops and manages a detailed project Work Break Down Structure (WBS) in an enterprise PPM/PFM tool.
  • Manages resource availability and allocations for shared enterprise resources assigned to projects. Ensures resource availability during the periods required for assigned tasks as well as accurately forecasts planned work (allocations) in the project WBS for all assigned resources. Proactively address over-allocation with the resource manager.
  • Documents, manages, monitors, and reports on all project risks, issues, actions, decisions, and dependencies.
  • Coordinates developing, documenting, and implementing risk mitigation plans to minimize risk event probability and/or impact to assigned projects.
  • Accountable for developing and managing approved project budgets and associated schedules; understand and present status (and variances) on cost drivers, burn rates, and project performance vs. the baselined WBS and approved budget.
  • Manages authoring and gaining approval on any Project Change Request (PCR) aligning to the PMO documented process.
  • Develops and gets approval on all other artifacts required by the PMO. As examples: Communication plans and associated artifacts, a deployment plan or Method-of-Procedure (MOP), as well as support handover documentation.
  • Accountable for all other required artifacts authored by the responsible project resources and approved by authorized project stakeholders, including a Business Requirements Document (BRD), a Technical Specification or Design Specification, QA Strategy and QA Tests (regression, end-to-end, performance, security, UAT, etc.).
  • Work with the VP IT, IT leaders and other executives on key decision-making activities during project execution as needed.
  • Mentoring, coaching, developing & encouraging excellence from IT project teams.
  • Retool and continually upgrade personal skills and knowledge of both business and information technology environments.
  • Continually upgrade and enhance knowledge of client’s project management processes and methodologies and provide a key source of expertise when needed.
  • Incorporate best practices into IT organization, beginning with project management practices.



REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 7+ years’ experience managing complex technology projects involving data centers, network infrastructure, IT systems security, server and storage platforms, telephony systems, enterprise architecture, desktop, and mobile technologies.
  • 5+ years’ experience delivering projects under a rigorous, enterprise PMO though the entire the project delivery lifecycle.
  • Manage multiple projects, of varying scope and scale, simultaneously while meeting deliverables and commitments
  • Ability to flex and adapt to a fast-paced, results-driven environment
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft Project, preferably in an organization using Microsoft Project Enterprise Server or PWA (or a similar enterprise PPM tool like Clarity or Daptiv), to create detailed project WBSs as well as manage, track, and report on project activities.
  • Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Visio to create floor plans, IT rack diagrams as well as process diagrams
  • Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel to create financial models, what-if scenarios, and forecasting
  • Ability to perform task, schedule, and budget estimations to complete required artifacts
  • Develop, manage, forecast and report on all project financials.
  • Ability to analyze a project schedule to ensure delivery to agreed-upon milestones as well as leverage techniques within the project plan make course corrections to meet committed deliverable dates (e.g. leveraging CPM/CPA).
  • Strong understanding of and ability to execute project management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to lead a project team in the successful completion of projected related activities per an approved plan.
  • Ability to assess and communicate performance-to-plan vs. approved budget, schedule and scope. Be able to produce and speak to burndown analysis reports.
  • Ability to elicit, document, assess, report and monitor project risk events in terms of probability and impact
  • Experience developing and executing plans to mitigate risks and lower impact of issues
  • Experience working in a process and governance driven environment
  • Ability to negotiate and manage resource assignment and forecast capacity with non-dedicated, shared enterprise project resources without compromising the ability to deliver on commitments
  • Infrastructure delivery experience at a large consulting/services organization is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate
  • Strong analytical and problem solving/decision-making skills
  • Experience presenting, escalating and providing solutions to senior leadership
  • Capability to understand client's infrastructure environment as well as how the different systems and services contribute to daily business operations
  • Has discretion in making tactical decisions
  • Provides input on strategic decisions to management as required
  • Expected to be creative to help develop high-impact changes in client’s project management processes or strategies



EDUCATION

  • B.A. or B.S or technical degree required (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other industry-related curriculum)
  • M.A. or M.S. preferred
  • Note: Sufficient and relevant work experience may be considered in place of the educational requirements



CERTIFICATIONS

  • Project Management Institute, PMP certification required
  • ITIL Foundations preferred
