Overview

Renata Medical is seeking to hire an engineer to lead the development of a novel pediatric medical device project from concept selection through all design phases. The candidate will work closely with physicians and all cross-functions to provide a solution to a complex congenital need. This role will also be responsible for supporting key projects associated with other catheters and implants as a member of a collaborative Research and Development team. This role requires a candidate with strong organizational skills, the willingness to lead others, and the ability to think strategically when making design decisions. This candidate will report directly to the manager of research and development. Renata is a fast-paced startup company that will rely on a motivated candidate able to work with a small team, embrace new challenges, and effectively communicate goals and progress. This is not a typical engineering role and requires a leadership-oriented candidate to lead all aspects of a design and manage a multifaceted project.


Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

·      Bachelor’s degree in engineering

·      5+ years of experience in medical device development from concept to commercialization. Class III medical

device R&D is beneficial.

·      Expertise in medical device product development and design

·      Experience in a clinical setting or previous relationships with KOLs

·      Experience as an engineering project design lead is preferred

·      Proficiency with CAD modeling and cardiovascular implants/catheters is preferred.

·      Excellent written and verbal skills

·      Strong leadership, specifically with internal team members and outside vendors

·      Significant experience and knowledge with regards to medical device quality systems or Design Controls
