The position of Design Engineer is located on-site at our sister company, CMC Machining & Milling in Fleetwood, PA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing and leading the full design process from ideation to production. You will draw new designs and update our current designs. During the creation process, you will ensure that our designs meeting all necessary design responsibilities. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:

 

·        Responsible for the mechanical, electrical, and control system design and specifications for CMC equipment.

·        Designs custom machines and components for horizontal media mills and batch media milling and mixing equipment.

·        Uses CAD software to create models and detailed drawings of equipment and components.

·        Creates approval drawing packages and works with the customer to approve designs.

·        Generates Bills of Material for each machine.

·        Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production.

·        Interacts with procurement team on purchased components and services.

·        Coordinates with outside Electrical Engineering firm to complete electrical diagrams and build the electrical panels. Coordinate with programmers on specific machine requirements.

·        Create manuals to be sent to the customer with the equipment.

·        Any other duties as assigned.

·        Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or extensive experience in machinery design and engineering..

·        Strong communication (written and oral) and problem-solving skills.

·        Proficient with 3D CAD software

·        In-depth knowledge of processes, procedures, systems, preventative measures and manufacturing best practices.

·        Experienced in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

·        Strong MS Office proficiency – including Outlook, Teams, Work, Excel, PowerPoint
