Insight Global is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior SQL Developer to join our growing team with one of our manufacturing clients in the Monroe, NC area. This individual will be joining a 10 person team where they will be responsible for assisting in the design and maintenance of database systems to ensure their stability, reliability and performance.


Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
  • Basic understanding of SQL and relational database concepts
  • Experience with SQL Server, MySQL or other database management systems
  • Experience with SQL Development (develop, implement and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures)
  • Assist in the design and maintenance of database systems to ensure their stability, reliability and performance
  • Microsoft data platform administration (SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, Azure SQL DB or Managed Instances)
  • Knowledge of other RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Azure ComosDB or equivalent technology)
  • Experience with SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery (Failover Cluster Instances, Always-On Availability Groups, Log Shipping)
  • Strong documentation skills with business requirements and testing applications
  • Strong decision making, priority setting and planning skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • After Hours On-Call Support (supporting hardware and software needs in the manufacturing plants)

Plusses:

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and tools.
