Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated X-Ray/Dexa Technologist to join our team at Medical Imagery Solutions & Staffing in Phoenix, Arizona. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining X-Ray and Dexa scanning equipment, ensuring accurate and high-quality imaging services to our healthcare clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Radiographic and Dexa Scans: Conduct X-Ray and Dexa scans on patients according to physician orders, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and image quality.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain X-Ray and Dexa scanning equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly. Troubleshoot and report any technical issues promptly.
- Patient Care: Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, addressing patient concerns, and positioning patients correctly for imaging procedures.
- Radiation Safety: Adhere to strict radiation safety guidelines to minimize radiation exposure to patients, yourself, and other staff members.
- Image Quality: Ensure the production of high-quality diagnostic images, including proper positioning, exposure techniques, and image processing.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including documentation of procedures, patient history, and other relevant information.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities to ensure the highest standards of imaging services.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, including radiologists, nurses, and support staff, to provide seamless patient care.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in radiography and DEXA scanning through ongoing education and training.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and Arizona state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Dexa Certification: Dexa certification is preferred, but not mandatory. Willingness to obtain Dexa certification if not already certified.
- Experience: Previous experience as an X-Ray Technologist is required. Dexa scanning experience is a plus.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and patient care skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented healthcare environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in operating X-Ray and Dexa scanning equipment and knowledge of relevant software.
- Radiation Safety: Strong understanding and adherence to radiation safety protocols and principles.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in positioning and producing diagnostic images.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
