THE OPPORTUNITY

Novium is seeking a passionate and driven Automation Sales Engineer to lead our expansion into Houston’s automation market. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on challenges and is eager to make a significant impact in a burgeoning industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Expansion: Utilize your deep understanding of the Houston automation market and existing network to identify and pursue new business opportunities, with a focus on warehouse automation and familiarity with sectors such as manufacturing and inspection.
  • Client Engagement: Develop and maintain long-term partnerships by providing expert consultation and tailored automation solutions that align with client needs.
  • Solution Development: Analyze client operations to define requirements and collaborate with our design team to develop system architectures that optimize return on investment.
  • Project Management: Oversee the integration and commissioning of automation systems, ensuring seamless implementation and client satisfaction.
  • Customer Advocacy: Serve as the voice of the customer within Novium, ensuring that solutions meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Self-Management: Demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain focus on goals without constant oversight.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer, controls), mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in automation sales, with a proven track record in warehouse automation and familiarity with manufacturing and inspection sectors.
  • Market Knowledge: Established relationships within the Houston automation market.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, including prototyping, assembly, and troubleshooting.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively collaborate with technical teams and clients.
  • Work Authorization: Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Experience: 10+ years in automation sales engineering.
  • Certifications: Certified Automation Professional (CAP).
  • Advanced Education: Master’s degree or higher in robotics, controls, or a related discipline.
  • Specialized Experience: Experience deploying autonomous mobile robotics in operational settings.
  • Entrepreneurial Background: Experience in lean engineering organizations or entrepreneurial environments requiring creative problem-solving and resourcefulness.
