Senior Data Analyst

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to lead their data analytics team and drive data-driven decision-making and deliverables on a large project. They will be responsible for leading a team of 1-2 data analysts, improving processes, and ensuring that systems are aligned with industry best practices.


This position is onsite in Phoenix, AZ.


Senior Data Analyst Responsibilities

Utilize expert-level SQL skills to extract and analyze data, generating insights and reports to support decision-making processes.

Proficiently manage and maintain the MS SQL database, including optimizing tables, implementing logic, and ensuring data integrity and security, and regularly updating data.

Demonstrate competent use of Business Intelligence tools like PowerBI to visualize data and create interactive dashboards and reports for various stakeholders.

Utilize Excel expertise to manage and analyze complex datasets, employing VBA for automation where necessary.

Supervise and mentor data analysts, improving their methodologies and fostering professional growth.

Collaborate with project management to align data analysis efforts with overarching business objectives, effectively communicating the big picture goals and the direction of data-related initiatives.

Ensure that existing systems and processes remain up-to-date with the latest industry methods and technologies, driving innovation and efficiency.

Develop and present data models in a comprehensible manner to non-technical stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.

Effectively communicate with international clients, presenting data insights and findings clearly and concisely.


Senior Data Analyst Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

5+ years of proven expertise in SQL (Expert level) and Business Intelligence tools (Competent).

5+ years of experience in managing and maintaining MS SQL databases, encompassing table optimization, logic implementation, data integrity, security measures and overall best practices.

5+ years of proficiency in Business Python, Excel (including VBA), and PowerBI.

5+ years of demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and mentor a team of data analysts.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at simplifying and conveying complex data concepts to non-technical audiences.

Familiarity with various data analysis methodologies and best practices.

A proactive approach to staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.


Preferred

Experience in handling international clients and understanding diverse business needs.

Employ Python for data manipulation (ETL), analysis, and automation of processes.


Salary: $80k-$100k (DOE)
