Job Description:

BMF3D is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Additive Manufacturing Applications Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key role in advancing our applications expertise, pushing the boundaries of 3D printing materials, and interact directly with customers to solve their unique applications challenges. You will be an integral part of our Applications Engineering team, collaborating with fellow engineers and technicians to produce, troubleshoot, and optimize customer parts for both prototyping and production, while maintaining printed part production workflows. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in assisting our customers in leveraging BMF's 3D printing technology for their specific applications. You will collaborate closely with the sales and engineering teams to ensure our clients' success in adopting our cutting-edge technology.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Applications Development: Collaborate with customers to understand their specific needs and requirements. Develop and optimize 3D printing parameters and processes to achieve desired outcomes.
  2. Production Workflow: Manage, operate, maintain and optimize 3D printer farm at the Maynard, MA facility for customer and internal prints, alongside team members, with a focus on both quality and output.
  3. Materials Integration: Design of experiments for evaluating and rolling out internally developed as well as third party resins on BMF equipment.
  4. Sales Minded: Collaborate with the Sales Team on solving unique customer challenges and communicating directly with those customers on a regular basis.
  5. Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers by answering inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and offering guidance on the best use of BMF's 3D printing technology.
  6. Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation, including application notes, technical guides, and case studies, to assist customers in achieving their objectives.
  7. Feedback: Collect and analyze customer feedback, identifying opportunities for product improvement and innovation. Communicate customer needs and requirements to the engineering and product development teams.
  8. Industry Insights: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive technologies, and emerging applications of 3D printing.

 

Qualifications:

  • Required: 5+ years of additive manufacturing experience in SLA and/or DLP with a focus on customer and internal application and materials qualifications.
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, or a related field.
  • Experience optimizing print parameters for resin materials to achieve desired properties for a functional end-use part.
  • Excels at working on multiple customer and internal projects at a time while.
  • Proficiency with production planning, quality control methods, and data analysis.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
