Job Summary

The HR Information Systems Consultant will manage our Human Capital Management (HCM) system (Oracle HCM and Recruiting Cloud) and lead the documentation process of all HR functions. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of HR data, digitally transforming processes and implementing efficient HRIS workflows, while documenting all HR processes in compliance with company policies and regulations.


This position will have expertise in dealing with the unique challenges and requirements of the higher education sector, such as complex organizational structures, diverse workforce compositions, and academic-specific processes. Additionally, they would possess experience in stabilizing HCM systems, which involves resolving issues related to system performance, functionality, data accuracy, and user adoption. Combining HRIS consultancy with expertise in higher education and HCM system stabilization enable this position to offer tailored solutions that address the unique needs of academic institutions while optimizing HR processes and technology systems.


This position will report into the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer.


Job Responsibilities

HRIS Implementation, Configuration and Management

  • the implementation and configuration of HRIS software, ensuring alignment with the client’s specific requirements and processes.
  • the HRIS system to support the diverse needs of our faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • and advise on Oracle HCM Cloud modules, encompassing Recruiting, Core HR, Talent Management, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, and Time and Labor.
  • and maintain the HCM system, ensuring end-to-end solutions are aligned with business requirements and organizational objectives.
  • with Oracle and the college’s IT professionals to implement the college’s new HCM system with knowledge regarding data model, security model, and configuration options.
  • lead for troubleshooting the HCM system issues, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • issues with integrations for Core HR, Benefits and Compensation.


Process Documentation

  • and maintain comprehensive workflow documentation for all HR processes, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, performance management, case management, offboarding, benefits, and compensation.
  • documentation is up-to-date and in compliance with relevant laws and company policies.

System Optimization

  • HR processes and workflows to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvement within the HRIS system.
  • enhancements and best practices to streamline HR operations and improve user experience.


Data Integrity, System Updates, and Maintenance

  • and implement strategies for data migration and cleanup.
  • with IT and vendor partners to address technical issues and implement necessary enhancements.
  • system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities to ensure the HRIS software remains up-to-date and fully functional.

Training and Support

  • and conduct training sessions for HR staff and end-users on how to effectively utilize the HRIS software.

Compliance and Reporting

  • the HRIS system to generate required reports and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, particularly in the higher education sector and ad-hoc reports for HR metrics and analytics.

  • abreast of regulatory changes and industry trends to proactively address compliance requirements.
  • informed about changes in HR laws and regulations.
  • HCM and documentation practices align with legal requirements.


Stakeholder Management

  • as a liaison between the univeristy and HRIS vendors, communicating requirements, addressing issues, and managing vendor relationships.
  • with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and academic departments, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of HRIS systems with institutional goals.


Minimum Qualifications

  • degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • of five (5) years of proven experience in HRIS administration and documentation, preferably with Oracle HCM and Recruiting Cloud.
  • in HCM systems commonly used in higher education, such as Workday Student, Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, or similar platforms.
  • understanding of HR processes, compliance requirements, and data governance principles.
  • communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • management experience, including planning, execution, and monitoring of HRIS implementation projects.
  • problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues and recommend solutions.
  • to delivering high-quality service and support to internal clients, with a focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • to continuous learning, staying abreast of new Oracle HCM features, updates, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • degree in human resources, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • certification in HR or HRIS management, i.e., PHR, SPHR, HRIP, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, HCM Professional)
  • experience successfully implementing and stabilizing a HCM system and troubleshooting end user issues within the system.
