WHO WE ARE HIRING: Quality Assurance Analyst


Who we need:

HHS Technology Group is seeking one full-time Quality Assurance Analyst to partner with our client MNIT and be a member of their team.

The Quality Assurance Analyst (QAA) will partner with the Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) in the Minnesota Justice Information Services (MNJIS) section of the BCA. The QAA will work on multiple projects and assist the MNJIS Focus team on other software development initiatives for the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). The delivery of the work will follow BCA standards, processes, and procedures. The person filling the position is expected to actively participate in the Agile events implemented by the development team.

At a high level, the QAA will be responsible for working with a team to deliver quality software products developed by MNJIS Focus teams. The QAA will cover Quality Assurance work on multiple initiatives including eCharging, DWI Dashboard, BrAD, or other products as needed. Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is responsible for integration testing, enhancements and upgrades of these systems.

The work is expected to be done in a hybrid manner (2 days in office/ 3 remote) and will perform work on-site at: 1430 Maryland Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55106. Subject to change.


What you will do:

  • Participate in formal review of business/functional requirements and application design
  • Prepare a Test Plan
  • Determine the types of testing that will be implemented
  • Design and document test cases
  • Identify and communicate test requirements
  • Identify and prepare test data
  • Execute test cases
  • Analyze, report, help troubleshoot and resolve test failures
  • Report overall test status and results
  • Report and log defects found as a result of the test execution
  • Perform other testing tasks as may be required by the project
  • Provide knowledge transfer

Desired skills:

  • Four (4) years' experience in performing advanced IT Quality Assurance and testing functions.
  • Three (3) years' experience in Agile SDLC.
  • Experience in software Quality Assurance/Quality Control methodologies, process, and technologies with respect to manual, automation, smoke, functional, integration, accessibility, and performance/stress testing areas.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, work effectively as part of a team, and establish and maintain working relationships with all levels of stakeholders, business, and technology staff.
  • Experience in manual and automated testing which includes the ability to identify appropriate tests suitable for automation, creating automated tests from scratch, executing automated tests, identifying and correcting errors in automated tests, and reporting on results using tools such as Jira/Xray.
  • Experience with program languages and software development technologies such as, JAVA, .NET, and SQL.
  • Experience with web services testing with SoapUI using REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Experience working with Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice Systems.
