We are currently offering a fantastic career opportunity for a highly motivated Lab Technician to join Antharis Therapeutics, a pre-clinical company based in San Diego. The company is committed to discovering and developing novel immunotherapeutics (monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates) for various disease states. The approaches for antibody discovery, including hybridoma technology, aim to streamline the development of lead candidates for entering the clinic in an expedited fashion.


We are seeking a Research Associate to report directly to the supervising scientist and join our dynamic team. The role involves executing immunization procedures on mice, isolation of splenocytes, fusion of splenocytes with fusion partner, hybridoma cell culture, and subsequent screening protocols using ELISA, alongside all stages of antibody generation. The candidate must proficiently use MS Office, especially Excel, and maintain detailed records in our ELN and database systems. Responsibilities also include preparing laboratory solutions and performing antibody purification. Effective communication, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment are essential. Flexibility for occasional late hours and the capacity to thrive in a self-directed team are required, with potential for additional duties as needed.


Essential Job Functions:

• Directly report supervising scientist

• Follows established protocols or procedures

• Execute approaches to immunize mice and perform fusions

• Execute hybridoma cell culture using both liquid and semi-solid media

• Execute screening protocols using ELISA methods

 • Execute all stages of antibody generation to deliver diverse panels of antibodies meeting the required criteria.

• Maintains detailed records of all experiments in ELN using in-house databases and tracking systems.

• Prepares buffers and other standard laboratory solutions, as well as cell culture media

• Performs antibody purification processes (purification, desalting, concentration)

• Maintains detailed records regarding experiments and data

• Communicates with associates and scientists on methodologies, results, etc

• Uses MS Office products proficiently, especially Excel

• Meets deadlines, rapidly adapts to changes in the laboratory and experimental workflow, and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced team environment

• May perform additional duties as assigned or directed by management from time to time

• Sample processing and experiments may require late hours

• Thrive in a self-directed environment and communicate with people from various educational backgrounds


Position Requirements:

• BS degree in Biology or closely related field

• At least one year of relevant experience is required

• Familiarity with standard cell culture techniques and proficiency in aseptic technique is a plus

• Experience with data/statistical analysis is preferred (Excel, GraphPad Prism, etc.)

• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgment, common sense, and resourcefulness

• Possesses a high level of critical thinking

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Has familiarity with laboratory equipment and machinery

• Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information

• Strong people skills and good communication skills

• Great organizational skills and time management

• Driven, committed, self-initiating, with perseverance and a sense of urgency

• Legally authorized to work in the US
