Junior Technician

CALIBRE Systems an employee owned management consulting and digital transformation company is seeking a Junior Technician to join our team in Jeffersonville, IN The Junior Technician, under the general direction and supervision of the Vice President, Technical Solutions, will be responsible for the following:

Diagnoses, services and repairs PCs and peripheral equipment.
Works from general guidelines and follows standardized procedures and instructions.
Coordinates work with other personnel and vendors as needed.
Provides technical assistance and support to logistics, quality assurance and Project Manager, as required.
Diagnoses, repairs, and performs routine maintenance on all equipment returned to National Processing Center (NPC), including laptops and other peripheral equipment; tests and repairs all field repairable assemblies.
Checks functioning of repaired equipment to evaluate system performance under operating conditions.
Packages all equipment in standardized proper way for return shipments.
Documents all repairs for Quality Assurance testing and processing.
Interfaces with departmental staff when required to ensure National Processing Center (NPC) customer satisfaction.
Tests and verifies all PC board field failures and assists in determining causes of failed parts or equipment.
Performs image script loading.
Evaluates best cost approaches to implement repairs to customer equipment.
Maintains technical documentation library as required.
Maintains neat and organized work areas. Assists in maintaining neat and clean test bed area.
Assists Deputy Project Manager on testing of equipment and providing information to field engineers.
Interfaces with vendors for pricing, specifications, and warranty issues.
Provides technical assistance to subcontractors, as directed.



Required Skills



A+ certification is required.
Dell Computer Repair Certifications Preferred.
Associate degree in electronics or equivalent certificate from a technical or trade school, or other equivalent training and work experience.
Minimum of one-year experience as depot bench technician or similar position.
Proficiency in the use of digital equipment, such as oscilloscopes and voltmeters.
Excellent organizational skills.
Good command of the English language and good verbal and writing communication skills.



Physical requirements

Standing on your feet for 8hrs.
Excessive bending and lifting
Repetitive Boxing and unboxing of laptops
Must be able to lift boxes weighing at least 10lbs
Must be able to place multiple laptops on shelves/racks for testing
